Announcement of the 27th World Computer Shogi Championship

It is our pleasure to announce that the 27th World Computer
Shogi Championship will be held in Japan in May 2017.
Please note that the rules and the library rules have
been changed.

Registration Deadline
January 31, 2017

Eligibility
Open to anyone of any nationality. Only originally produced programs
may be entered. Furthermore, only one program from each development team
may enter the tournament. The program may use the library modules under
the library rules that were established on December 14, 2016. Each
development team must disclose all the primary developer's first and
last names, representative entrant's first and last name, and the name
of any library module (package) used.

Any computer may be used.
Competitors are strongly urged to bring their own computer.
The CSA may provide an IBM compatible,
but it may be a relatively slow machine.

Payment in cash will also be accepted at the tournament.

The Rules and Regulations of the Computer Shogi Championship are
available in both Japanese and English. In all questions of
interpretation, the Japanese version shall be regarded as authoritative.

World Computer Shogi Championship Policies

Computer Shogi Association

These are the policies of the World Computer Shogi Championships (WCSCs),
hosted by the Computer Shogi Association (CSA).

1. The WCSCs are held for the purpose of deciding the strongest computer
shogi at the time under conditions of fair and impartial operation.

2. The CSA imposes no restrictions on the hardware of any entrant for the WCSCs.
Furthermore, any person may enter the WCSCs without restriction.

3. The CSA maintains interchange among developers at the WCSCs.
