It is our pleasure to announce that the 22nd World Computer Shogi Championship will be held in Japan in May 2012.

First Prize
A notebook computer

Eligibility
Open to anyone of any nationality. Only originally produced programs may be entered.
Furthermore, only one program from each development team may enter the tournament. The program may use CSA library modules. Each development team must disclose all the members' first and last names and the name of any library module (package) used.
Some restrictions exist for programs that use a CSA library module other than the developers' make in order to qualify for the next stage.

Any computer may be used.
Competitors are strongly urged to bring their own computer.
The CSA may provide an IBM compatible, but it may be a relatively slow machine.

Payment in cash will also be accepted at the tournament.

The Rules and Regulations of the Computer Shogi Championship are available in both Japanese and English. In all questions of interpretation, the Japanese version shall be regarded as authoritative.


World Computer Shogi Championship Policies

These are the policies for the World Computer Shogi Championships (WCSCs) hosted by the Computer Shogi Association (CSA).

1. The WCSC's are for deciding the strongest computer shogi of the time under fair and impartial operation.

2. The CSA does not restrict the hardware of any entrant for the WCSCs. Any person may enter the WCSCs without restriction.

3. The CSA maintains interchange among developers at the WCSCs.
